El Salvador

Posted: January 17, 2011 in El Salvador

El salvador is the most populated and probably most crowded country in Central America. If you’re traveling with no real schedule, it’s worth seeing just passing by. Over all, as a tourist, there isn’t much to see or do compared to it’s neighbors. The towns are not that welcoming, the beaches are dirty and really crowded on the week-ends while everything is in American $ and around the same prices as in the US. Still, if you’re visiting Central America, stop by for a bit and check it off your list.

Katia came to visit me and we spent close to 2 weeks and 1000km going all around this small country. She flew in on the 25th of December till the 4th of January. We left the bike at the hotel and rented a car for the time being. She brought her new Canon 60D so I gave my camera (even though it’s better than hers :P) a small break. Here are the pictures we took (mainly her work) in El Salvador.

Merry Christmas!

Over all, El Salvador was fun. Probably because there were 2 of us. I can see it being a pretty boring country to see by yourself. New years there was also a blast. Fireworks and cherry bombs are cheap and powerful. with 5$, you can do some real damage!

Awesome pictures, saw some place on there that I still have to visit! And I must agree, El Salvador is not the greatest place for tourists, but still worth a visit with its beautiful landscapes beaches and colonial towns!

Mmmm with condensed milk…that desert was sooo good. and just because your camera doesn’t have the AUTOMATIC button it doesn’t make it better 😛 it all depends on the photographer hehehehe : ) I have a couple of months before I see you to learn how to use it. 😛
