We have some sad news! Santa will soon be loosing his home! Those useful and useless gifts you all bought in large quantities this year were produced by sub slave labor, by kids maybe even younger than yours, and have contributed in such large amount to this year’s global warming that if you buy even just one more gift this or next year, Santa will lose his home! How are you going to be able to tell your kids when they grow up that you were the cause that Santa lost his home?

Watch Santa look for a new home.

Maybe it’s time we changed the way we look at Christmas?

Has it been that long?

Posted: October 12, 2011 in Uncategorized

Yesterday, October 10th has been 1 year since I have been on the road. Feels like it was just yesterday that I left. For anyone following this blog, I guess it´s been a year for you too. It´s been a great adventure, 12 months, 15 countries and about 40 000km. There is more to come though! I am now in Paraguay waiting for the bike to get fixed (more on that later), and still have Argentina, Chile, Uruguay and Brasil to go. I know that the blog is still far back in Peru, but will try to catch up once I get some WIFI for my laptop…

Touring around with Carlos

Posted: February 13, 2011 in Uncategorized

The next day, Hector had to go to work so he hooked me up with one of his buddies who also happens to be a tour guide. His Name is Carlos and he will show you around where most tourists don’t get to go. He has also done long expeditions and has worked with The National Geographic. In the next 3 days, we put over 300km on the bike and hiked one of the local mountains.

Merry Christmas

Posted: December 26, 2010 in Guatemala, Uncategorized

Last night I had the pleasure of having Christmas in the small town of La Barona, Guatemala. I was under the impression that Christmas was all about invading the malls where a fake santa sits surrounded by nicely packed boxes and shiny things while kids are thought from a young age by sitting on his big fat lap that wanting and getting “stuff” is what this holiday is all about. Or maybe that it’s a holiday created by the same religious nuttjobs who called Mary a virgin and decided to create some of the best selling books in the world while killing millions of people in the name of Jebus and invading whole countries/continents.

You got it, I can’t stand Christmas… but for the first time in many years, I wasn’t pissed off during this “precious” time of the year. I was actually enjoying my night. In this small town I was in, kids didn’t get expensive gifts, or any at all really. They had free food they all shared, a few pinatas filled with candy and some get togethers. The teenagers went dancing at night and the parents arranged for the food and activities. No one talked about going to the mall or shopping. It was a nice and simple night.

I hope that all you mall invading freaks had a joyful Christmas as well and that you brought back up the cheerful retail shareholders portfolios by a few points.

Some pass time videos in the christmas spirit…

A cute one

– Nurf bars or whatever those protective bars are on the sides
– Center Stand
– Doohickey
– “Ticking time bomb” fix
– Sub frame bolts
– 2″ riser for the bar
– Hand guards
– Heated grips + heated vest hook-up
– Gas canister holders (custom 🙂 )
– 2″ Thick memory foam covering a gel type seat
– On/off switch for headlight
– On/off switch for electronics
– 12V jack with USB
– iPhone and GPS holder
– Wind screen (came already upgraded)
– Cruise Control

Today was my last day of work for the big Apple.  It feels weird knowing that my bank account will only decrease in size from now on and that I have to start being really cheap about everything….
